Evangelism & Pastoral care
CCW organises evangelistic activities in partnership with local churches, other institutions and individuals. This is accompanied by our Prayer ministry, through which we pray for people with spiritual problems, mad persons, barren couples and others.
Relevance:
Like the majority of Burundians, the families of pastors were severely affected by the 1993-2005 civil war. Pastors experience many hardships in their quest to fulfil their activities as servants as God and likewise to take care of their families. They have a very irregular income, which makes it difficult for them to cater for family needs such as food, clothing, health care or school fees. Their children often do not finish school education and thus loose the chance for a better future. If the pastors themselves become sick, this can have devastating consequences for their families. Furthermore, they often do not have the means to purchase a house or piece of land where he can farm. This struggle makes it very difficult for them to untertake their activities as pastors as they do not have enough time to evangelize or counsel wounded and hopless people.
During the war, Burundians had to suffer violence and severe human rights abuses and many had to flee. These experiences created trauma that still affect their daily lifes. It is their faith that gives them the strenght to cope with their traumatic experiences and look hopefully into the future.
Pastors, evangelists and lay people encounter and minister to wounded, torn apart and all kind desperate individuals within critical conditions of life. Afterwards, those in ministry end up by experiencing spiritual drought and physical tiredness. Hence, there is an urgent need for standing by them for more effectiveness of the ministry.

Activities:
We organise evangelistic activities in two main ways. Firstly, in partnership with local churches, other institutions and individuals. Church leaders and others often invite our team to go and preach to their congregation and share with them more about the role of the Church in reconciling torn a part people. Reconciliation ministry has been divinely entrusted to believers according to scriptures (Cf. 2 Co. 5:17—20).
Secondly, we do evangelism during our seminars and Workshops whereby every session begins with devotions. According to Christians’ testimonies, their faith is strengthened.

The evangelism, like all CCW activities, is supported by the Prayer ministry. Committed intercessors continuously pray for people with spiritual problems, mad persons, barren couples and the alike. God hears and answers our prayers and performs miracles among us. Glory be to the Lord!
Any small contribution can make their lives going on and help pastors improving their ministry by taking enough time to pray, to listen to God, to prepare sermons and to counsel wounded and hopeless persons appropriately for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
